Diary of Rachel Dustwater Chapter 5!

Sorry that I haven't posted chapters in awhile, but here it goes! The fith chapter of RD!

December 1, 1876
The first day was rough. It was very cold and the horses needed a blanket to keep warm.

I woke up early the next morning to find that my parents finally tied up the horses during the night and they were fast asleep.
I reached into my knapsack to get some breakfast. All there was is 3 apples, a loaf of bread and some leftover turkey from thanksgiving.
I decided to save the food until I was starving so I could save food.
About 30 minuets later Ma and Pa woke up.
“Good morning!” I said brightly as Ma and Pa rubbed their eyes. “I see you got some breakfast,” said Ma looking at the knapsack.
“No, I decided to save the food until I got really hungry,” I said.
“You are so smart,” said Pa smiling at me. I blushed and quietly said, “Thank you.”
“We better get a move on,” said Pa. “The sooner we get there, the better.”
And we were off!
Around Dinner time I got really hungry so, Ma whipped me up a Turkey sandwich and I gobbled it down.
“What are we going to do now,” I said with my mouth full of food.
“We’re going to stop at Mam maw’s ranch tomorrow,” said Pa
I now got excited. I couldn’t wait until tomorrow!

Well, don't forget to vote on the poll in the left corner of my blog!
Today's writing tip is: make sure your story is exciting. If you go back and re-read your story and it even bores you, then you know you got to change it! I've even gotten to a point in my book, where I relaxed about me writing it and read it like another author wrote it. The reason that that was so extrordianry, is because usually when you write a book, you can't get to a point where it's like you're reading a normal book, but I've gotten to that point, and that's when you know that its really good!

Keep on writing,
Chrissy
