A misunderstanding plus chapter 2

OK, about my last post "A disappointment" it was a misunderstanding! Google analytics not working. I'm looking at all of these people that are looking at it and choosing answers to the poll and commenting on my blog and I checked analytics and it said the same thing. We're going to reset it. Thanks for all of the support guys! I appreciate it.
Anywhooo, it's the moment you've all been waiting for. Some of you are on the edge of your seats waiting for this. It's my second chapter of RD! Here it is!

November 28, 1876
Thanksgiving Day was here!
I woke up bright and early and ran to the kitchen. Expecting to smell eggs, bacon and Ma’s famous pancakes, I smelled nothing.
There was a note on the kitchen table. It said:
We’re out to buy food for the feast.
Love,
Ma and Pa
I smiled as I thought about how delicious the feast would be. I knew it would be so big we shouldn’t eat breakfast.
So, I got dressed, brushed my hair and waited for Ma and Pa.
About 10 minutes later they arrived with their hands full with all of the food. I helped them and then begged and pleaded to see the food the bought. They finally agreed and I took a look.
It had ingredients for pumpkin pie and mashed potatos, and gravy. After looking through all of the ingredients the best part came. The turkey!
“We better get ready if we want to eat this food,” said Pa “Let’s go!” I said happily.
Pa was mashing up the potatoes with a meat masher, while Ma cooked the turkey over the fireplace with her roaster.
Finally, four hours later, it was done.
Just as I picked up my fork Ma said, “Before we eat, let’s be thankful for this wonderful thanksgiving day!”
I thought about how thankful I was to even have this feast and how much I loved my parents.
After we had done that we all ate the delicious feast. It was the best food I had tasted since last thanksgiving.
I then thought of how sad it was to not spend this with Mam maw but that idea soon faded away when the family all sat by the warm fire.
I thought about how nice it was spending this thanksgiving with Ma and Pa and with happy thoughts in my head I fell fast asleep.

I hope you liked my thanksgiving chapter! This is only the very beggining of RD, so the intro right now makes you want to get into the main acton. But you'll find out in the next chapter of Diary of Rachel Dustwater, so stay tooned!
Ok, here is my writing tip of the day! Having trouble thinking of an idea for a story? Write down 5 things you are interested in. For example:
1. computer
2. total drama island (a kids T.V show)
3.animals
4. Rachel Duatwater (duh!)
5. art
Then, I choose something from the list to write about. Here's an idea I just came up with for an example. It's from #5 art. Here is just a random summary of it.
Young Tara loves art and her paintings, but no one else seems to. Her friends don't like her artwork, neither do her teachers or parents. Little does Tara know that the upcoming national art festival, will be the moment to prove her friends wrong.
Good, right! You see, if you have a good imagination, you can think of almost anything!
Anyway, before I log off, let me remind you to check out today's poll on my second chapter.

Keep on writing,
Chrissy
